The day started early, as all of us were wide awake at about 4AM. This is Theresa and Caellum’s first experience with a 12+ hour time difference. They’re actually handling it better than I am, it must be an age thing.
The weather was a lot nicer today, so we decided it was the perfect day to hit Hong Kong Disneyland. Anyone that knows me, knows I’m not a lover of Disney. However, Space Mountain is pretty awesome and Caellum needed to experience it.
We rolled into the park right when it opened, and it was nice to see it empty. The first few rides we walked right onto without a wait. Space Mountain was the first, and Caellum handled it like a champ.
We rode the tracked go-karts you have some control over. You can accelerate, brake and steer, however if you don’t steer properly, you’re going to get your head raddled as you bounce off the center track. Caellum drove very well for some of it, but there were a few times I was close to whiplash.
We rode some rides, ate some bad food, but had a lot of fun at Hong Kong Disneyland. Disney is opening a new park in Shanghai, maybe that’ll be our next Disney park.
While leaving the park, I didn’t notice Caellum was taking some pointers on shooting. Photo by Theresa.
I figured it was a clear enough day that The Peak would be a good idea, so we headed into t he financial district of Hong Kong to get the Peak tram up the mountain. What a mess of tourism that was! The last time I did it, there was no lines. This time we would have had to lineup for the right to lineup again to buy tickets. No thanks, we’ll head back there on Monday morning.
4PM hit, and along with it came the jet lag, we should be over it by tomorrow.
Be sure to check out Caellum’s first blog post from today.
