Chiang Mai, Thailand

We were up early today to get to the airport in Hong Kong for the flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is my first trip to Thailand, so I was pretty excited to get there. We flew Air Asia, which was fine. It was cramped, but we lived.

We arrived in Chiang Mai around 1:30PM, which allowed us to go lazy into the day. We didn’t have much planned other than eating and hitting the night market. Night markets in Asia and South America are full of colour, smells, and sounds that never get boring or old. I could walk around markets every single night, even when things look the same, you see new things.

Caellum and I wanted to do something fun, so we decided some fish therapy on our feet was just the ticket. Theresa chickened out, but Caellum and I stuck our feet into an aquarium so little fish called garra rafa could nibble away at whatever was on our feet. It felt like pins & needles without the annoying pain. For about $4, we got 15 minutes of fun.

We strolled around some more and went and ate some green curry, which was as good as one might expect in Thailand.

We’re here for 6 days, and have a lot planned. This is one of two stops in Thailand, we’ll be in Bangkok in a couple of weeks.
